Industries Supervisor
G4S have successfully retained the contract to manage Mount Gambier Prison (MGP) on behalf of the Department for Correctional Services in South Australia. We currently require industries supervisors to join the team.The Industries Supervisor will assume responsibility for the instruction and guidance in teaching correct trade methods and safe work practises to prisoners within the prisons industries buildings.Role ResponsibilityKey Duties and Responsibilities Include;

Manage the daily operations of the industries business unit inclusive of security, compliance and storage of all tools and equipment
Ensure all daily productions targets are met
Assist prisoners who are undertaking TAFE certified courses with their production work
Ensure prisoners are appropriately trained
Oversee production quality control
Assist in the completion of OH&S Workplace Inspections and Plant Risk Assessments
Contribute to the business units financial performance

The Ideal CandidateIdeally you would possess the following skills, experience and qualifications;

Previous experience within the trade sector, ideally with qualifications in woodworking, cabinet making or carpentry
Previous experience in the supervision of staff
Demonstrated ability to deal with challenging situations that arise from a diverse and unique workforce
An ability to be flexible and adaptable to change
Workplace Training & Assessment qualifications are desirable but not essential
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety within the industrial sector
Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
